Night Manager – Boutique Hotel

About the role

The Night Manager ensures seamless overnight operations at the Arden Hotel, a West Coast‑inspired boutique property in downtown Vancouver. Reporting to the Director of Guest Operations, the role blends operational excellence with high‑touch guest service to uphold luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Night Audit duties, including posting room and tax charges, balancing accounts, generating statistical reports and maximizing revenue opportunities.
• Maintain a constant Front Desk presence throughout the night shift and ensure all guest communications are handled promptly.
• Review and reconcile credit‑card refunds, house accounts, market‑segment tracking and room inventory for the upcoming days.
• Monitor reservation and concierge emails, coordinate with accounting, and follow up on open folios before the audit closes.
• Oversee night‑houseperson performance, lobby cleanliness, and ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Engage with guests, welcome arrivals, settle final accounts at departure and address any concerns with a luxury‑brand mindset.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of service‑excellence experience in guest services, reservations or audit within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of Vancouver attractions and the ability to communicate, negotiate and network effectively.
• Excellent organization, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence, ability to lift up to 23 kg and flexibility to work overnight, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera or comparable hotel management systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
