Network Security Analyst

About the role

The County of Lambton is seeking a Network Security Analyst to protect its networks, devices, cloud services and systems from cyber threats. You will monitor security events, analyse alerts, assess risk, and respond to incidents while supporting the broader IT team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security events across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Analyse alerts, gather evidence, assess impact and contain incidents within delegated authority.
• Escalate high‑risk incidents to third‑party specialists and management.
• Recommend, implement and administer security software in partnership with vendors.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation and secure patching with the IT team.
• Develop and deliver cyber‑security awareness and training programs.
• Report on program effectiveness and maintain relationships with the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security.
• Provide network administration support and backup for server, cloud and Active Directory administrators, including telephony support when needed.

Required profile

• Completion of post‑secondary education in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.

Required skills

• Vulnerability remediation and patch management.
• Experience with cloud services and Active Directory environments.
• Incident response and security event monitoring.
