About the role
Our global law firm, operating in Canada, is seeking a mid‑level litigation lawyer to join its commercial litigation team in Toronto. The role focuses on handling complex commercial disputes, including cross‑border matters, class‑action defenses, fraud and recovery cases, and appellate work.
Key responsibilities
- Manage commercial litigation and arbitration matters from inception to resolution.
- Conduct cross‑border dispute handling and coordinate with international counsel.
- Defend class‑action lawsuits and lead fraud and recovery initiatives.
- Prepare and argue appellate briefs and attend court hearings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with high quality.
- Collaborate with senior partners and support a hard‑working team.
Required profile
- 2‑4 years of experience in commercial litigation or arbitration.
- Proven experience with cross‑border disputes, class‑action defense, fraud recovery, and appellate advocacy.
- Strong advocacy, drafting, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
