Merchandise Planner (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Article is seeking a Merchandise Planner for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in Vancouver. You will translate data into inventory and forecasting decisions that support category growth while keeping the right products available for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SKU‑level demand forecasts across channels, aligning them with category financial plans.
• Own Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) execution, managing inventory investments to meet merchandising and financial targets.
• Analyze historical sales, market trends and business performance to refine forecasts and adjust plans.
• Track forecast accuracy, sell‑through, inventory health and other KPIs to evaluate category performance.
• Partner with Category Management, Sourcing, Order Management and Finance to translate assortment strategies into inventory plans.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate planning processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, demand planning or related fields.
• Strong understanding of retail math and ability to apply it to inventory and financial planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Legally able to work in Canada and able to commit to the full fixed term ending September 10 2027.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets for large data sets.
• Experience with planning or reporting tools such as SAP IBP, Blue Yonder (JDA), John Galt, Anaplan or Tableau.
