Casual Inventory Supply Technician

About the role

The Casual Inventory Supply Technician supports hospital operations by maintaining optimal stock levels of pharmacy, sterile, and general supplies. Working under general supervision, the role involves receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing items throughout the facility to ensure timely replenishment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor inventory levels by performing physical counts, identifying reorder points, and scanning items with a handheld device.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, and verify incoming supplies against receiving reports, resolving discrepancies and returning damaged goods.
• Sort and distribute supplies to designated areas using transportation carts and pallet jacks, and forward used items to the Sterile Supply Department.
• Respond to emergent requests via phone or pager, retrieve items from central stores, and deliver them promptly to clinical areas.
• Rotate stock regularly, inspect for expirations, and remove outdated products from shelves.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education plus at least one year of recent, related experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultural safety, anti‑racism principles, and related legislative frameworks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff and supervisors.

Required skills

• Operation of pallet jacks and transportation carts.
• Use of hand‑held inventory devices and computerized inventory database systems.
• Physical ability to perform inventory counts and stock rotation.
