Mechanical Engineer III – HVAC & Mechanical Systems

About the role

CRB is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to lead the design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new facilities, renovations and process equipment. The role involves managing complex tasks, coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors, and ensuring designs meet code requirements and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system designs of intermediate complexity, including load calculations, utility assessments and energy modeling.
• Create and review design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, installation details and equipment specifications.
• Utilize BIM and CAD software to produce construction documentation and coordinate with manufacturers and trade partners.
• Manage the mechanical discipline scope and budget on small to medium projects, directing the work of junior engineers and draftsmen.
• Support construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch‑list development and progress reporting.
• Assist in proposal development and contribute to project studies, conceptual design and design development phases.
