Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Dart Aerospace is looking for a detail‑oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Montreal engineering team. You will support the creation of certified aerospace equipment for helicopters used in demanding missions such as firefighting, rescue, and utility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with concept development, design, and analysis of aerospace systems and mechanical components.
• Perform basic engineering calculations (structural, thermal, aerodynamic) under supervision.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including SolidWorks CAD drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical reports.
• Support test setup, execution, data collection, and analysis for engineering experiments.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with experienced engineers.
• Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Apply relevant industry standards (ASME, ISO, SAE) and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, templates, and workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5–7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or high‑tech manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software SolidWorks.
