Manufacturing Engineer – Prototype & Low‑Volume Production

About the role

Fortescue Zero is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Kidlington‑based Prototype and Low‑Volume Manufacturing team. You will help translate electric powertrain designs into efficient, high‑quality production runs while supporting the company’s zero‑emission mission.

Key responsibilities

• Attend design reviews and work with engineers to improve ergonomics, quality, efficiency and safety of manufacture.
• Produce and review technical deliverables such as Bills of Material (BOM), process flows, tooling specifications and work instructions.
• Develop production line layouts, source and install equipment, and organise work schedules to meet programme requirements.
• Conduct validation activities, including dry builds, process experiments and failure investigations, to qualify processes and equipment.
• Design, develop and implement new or improved production processes that reduce cost, improve quality or add value.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and present reports to project teams.

Required profile

• HNC/HND/degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Chartered or incorporated status with a relevant professional institution is beneficial.
• Team player with a proactive “can‑do” attitude, able to work independently and influence others.
• Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
