Manual Machinist – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team in North Bay, ON. The role involves setting up and operating a variety of conventional and computer‑controlled machine tools to produce precision components while adhering to engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Set up, adjust and operate production machinery and tools.
• Fit and assemble components to close tolerances.
• Document and report any deviations from specifications.
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
• Verify dimensions of machined parts using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Accurate, dependable and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Operating conventional and CNC machine tools.
• Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges and verniers.
• Experience with boring machines, broaching machines, drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, single‑purpose production machines and tapping machines.
