Manager, Training and Standards

About the role

The Manager, Training and Standards leads the development, delivery and oversight of training programs and operational standards for Motor Coach Services. Reporting to the Director of Motor Coach Services, this role ensures safety, reliability and customer focus across all motor coach operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and maintain operating procedures, training manuals and standard work practices.
• Identify training or standards gaps through incident reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Integrate CVOR and motor carrier safety requirements into training, evaluations and coaching.
• Maintain training and qualification records for audits and compliance reviews.
• Participate in audits, manage corrective action plans and support ongoing compliance monitoring.
• Analyze trends in collisions, inspections and safety indicators and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Promote a safety‑first culture and provide coaching to trainers and operations leaders.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Fleet Maintenance, HR, Labour Relations and regulatory partners.
• Support remedial and return‑to‑duty training following incidents or compliance findings.

Required profile

• University degree in Education, Transportation Management, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, or equivalent recent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulated transportation environment (motor coach preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to manage training programs, standards development and regulatory compliance.
