Manager, Strategy and Operations Indigenous Initiatives

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Manager to lead strategy and operations for Indigenous initiatives within the Department of Community, Culture and Global Studies. This role will guide the implementation of the university’s Indigenous Strategic Plan, supporting curriculum reform, research, and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with internal and external stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, to conduct needs assessments and set strategic priorities.
• Plan and coordinate curriculum development and language fluency degree programs, including teaching schedules for Interior Salish language revitalisation.
• Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets for Indigenous Studies program initiatives.
• Supervise Community Liaison and Instructional Coordinators associated with the programs.
• Lead long‑range planning, recruit instructors and community contributors, and oversee marketing activities for the Interior Salish Studies Centre.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with initiative and autonomy.
• Experience collaborating with Indigenous Studies faculty, staff, and community partners.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities.
