Manager, Insider Threat

About the role

The Insider Threat Manager will lead the development and maintenance of Scotiabank’s Insider Threat program, ensuring alignment with the bank’s ethical standards, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. This role partners with multiple internal stakeholders to embed insider‑threat mitigation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Champion a customer‑focused culture while deepening client relationships and leveraging broader bank resources.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve a robust Insider Threat program covering physical, financial, and digital domains.
• Identify and integrate policies and processes that support insider‑threat mitigation across Corporate Security, HR, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, TPRM, and other groups.
• Support the Enhanced Monitoring Program, including intake change requests, rule governance, communications, trend analysis, and executive reporting.
• Prepare materials for the executive Insider Threat Council and track work‑stream items from the Insider Threat Tactical Working Group.
• Ensure day‑to‑day activities comply with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and global sales principles, while maintaining effective operational controls.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or equivalent experience in criminology, risk management, information security, business, law, or related fields.
• Demonstrated understanding of insider‑threat concepts and experience developing prevention, identification, mitigation, and response strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and influence policy and operational enhancements.
