Manager, Indirect Tax

About the role

Join MNP’s Indirect Tax team as a Manager and act as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex GST/HST and sales‑tax environments. You will design and implement customized federal and local tax strategies that minimise liability while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple client‑facing engagement teams delivering GST/HST and sales‑tax planning and management services.
• Provide industry and technical expertise on complex tax issues through client interactions, reports, presentations and high‑quality deliverables.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, understand their business risks and deliver added value to grow relationships.
• Research tax and policy developments, advise on implications and contribute to specialized Indirect Tax training.
• Oversee engagement planning, budgeting, billing, collection and variance recognition.
• Maintain high‑quality control, anticipate issues and refer to relevant tax mandates.
• Network locally, identify business‑development opportunities and support proposal preparation.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• Completion of Level 1 of the In‑depth Tax Program or equivalent specialist courses.
• 4‑5 years of public accounting or tax‑consulting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian tax legislation.
• Strong understanding of business, accounting and practice‑development principles.
• Proven people‑management, relationship‑building and leadership abilities.
