Maintenance Electrical Co-op Student

About the role

Johnson Electric is hiring an Electrical Co-op student in Mississauga, Ontario, working on-site. The co-op is full-time, with day, afternoon or night shifts, and pays between $22 and $24 per hour. The co-op sets up, installs, repairs and maintains machinery and equipment while following safety rules and complying with the company's health, safety, quality and environmental policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Install, replace and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits and other electrical components
• Keep the maintenance shop clean and maintain an inventory of parts needed to perform the work
• Ensure the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety System requirements are met
• Other duties as required

Required profile

• Enrolled in post-secondary education in a technical field
• Working knowledge of SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
• Experience in the automotive industry is an asset but not required

Required skills

• Knowledge and some previous experience with mechanical assembly, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
• PLC and CNC-based control and logic systems
• Welding and basic machining skills are a definite asset
