Maintenance and Facilities Technician

About the role

Associated Ambulance is seeking a detail‑oriented Maintenance and Facilities Technician to keep its facilities safe, functional, and well‑maintained across Alberta. The role supports a productive environment for staff and ensures all building systems operate reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep of facilities, equipment, grounds, and staff accommodations.
• Complete basic repairs involving lighting, plumbing fixtures, doors, locks, walls, hardware, and other building components.
• Conduct facility inspections, identify deficiencies and safety concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues and determine when specialized work requires a qualified contractor.
• Schedule and oversee contractors, obtain quotes, monitor work quality, safety, cost, and timelines.
• Coordinate routine services such as cleaning, security, waste removal, and seasonal maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; track purchases, work orders, and service records.
• Use maintenance management software and Microsoft Office to document work and support facility planning.

Required profile

• Previous experience in facility management, building maintenance, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is an asset.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management software.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
