About the role

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic educator to fill a Long‑Term Occasional teaching assignment for Grade 7/8 at Westwood. This full‑time (1.0 FTE) position runs from September 2 2026 to February 15 2027 and offers a salary range of $52,974–$119,975 per year, prorated based on experience and QECO rating.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver continuous, high‑quality instruction to Grade 7/8 students during the regular teacher’s temporary absence.
• Implement the Ontario curriculum, assess student progress, and maintain classroom management.
• Collaborate with the school principal and staff to support student achievement and well‑being.
• Adhere to Board policies and Ontario Ministry of Education standards.

Required profile

• Intermediate teaching qualification (Ontario certified teacher).
• Eligibility for QECO rating and relevant teaching experience.
• Availability to start on September 2 2026 for the full term.
• Ability to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and two professional references (one from current principal or vice‑principal).
