Logistics Team Leader

About the role

Urban Nature Store is looking for a results‑oriented Logistics Team Leader to oversee product movements across its main warehouse in Thornhill, a secondary site in Buffalo and ten retail locations in southern Ontario. The role is full‑time, onsite, and focuses on ensuring inventory availability and timely, cost‑effective shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly inventory shipments to retail locations.
• Manage monthly replenishment shipments from the Buffalo warehouse, handling cross‑border logistics, customs documentation and brokerage.
• Analyze sales patterns to allocate products per store.
• Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts and resolve discrepancies.
• Receive, inspect and log incoming shipments in the inventory system.
• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers in India, China, Vietnam and other hubs; language assets (Gujarati, Hindi, Mandarin) are a plus.
• Identify new suppliers to improve pricing, quality and delivery timelines.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve issues quickly.
• Coordinate with trucking companies for domestic and cross‑border pickups and deliveries.
• Optimize transportation schedules to minimize costs while meeting store replenishment needs.
• Hold an AZ driver’s license and assist with large deliveries when required.
• Schedule and assign daily tasks to warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in inventory and warehouse management.
• Strong understanding of cross‑border logistics and customs procedures.
• Ability to analyse sales data and make allocation decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship skills.
• Comfortable communicating with international suppliers; language knowledge (Gujarati, Hindi, Mandarin) is an asset.
• Valid AZ driver’s license.
• Leadership capability to schedule and supervise warehouse personnel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of customs documentation and brokerage processes.
• AZ driver’s license (commercial vehicle qualification).
