Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Penticton Regional Hospital

About the role

This is a long‑term locum opportunity for an emergency medicine physician at Penticton Regional Hospital. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care in a busy South Okanagan emergency department while collaborating with a diverse team of specialists and educators.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients in the Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with a team of 18 emergency physicians and specialist support.
• Utilize on‑site CT and MRI imaging for diagnosis and management.
• Participate in trauma care as the hospital is a Regional Trauma Referral Centre.
• Teach and supervise medical students and family practice residents from UBC’s Southern Medical Program.

Required profile

• Certification as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada – Emergency Medicine or a Certificate of Canadian Family Physicians – Emergency.
• Eligibility to practice emergency medicine in Canada.
• Willingness to work a long‑term locum assignment (approximately 6‑9 months) with potential for permanent transition.

Required skills

• Proficiency in emergency medicine clinical practice.
• Ability to interpret CT and MRI imaging.
