Litigation Associate

About the role

Vogel LLP, a leading boutique litigation firm in Calgary, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing team. This role offers direct client exposure, responsibility for managing files from inception to resolution, and the chance to develop a robust litigation practice alongside experienced lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify and establish file objectives, aligning client preferences with firm obligations.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft high‑quality legal documents.
• Complete delegated work from senior counsel and peers with accuracy.
• Manage cases from start to finish, creatively solving problems and making decisions.
• Assist senior counsel on large and complex litigation matters.

Required profile

• Two to five years of litigation experience in Alberta, including mediation, arbitration, and court appearances.
• Experience in complex litigation is an asset; background in Family Law, Personal Injury, or Estates is also valued.
• Excellent drafting, research, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and multi‑tasking abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, both independently and within a team, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
