Legal Advisor

About the role

As a Legal Advisor at Davie, you will work across the organization to support the company’s strategic objectives. You will provide timely, practical legal advice, identify risks, and negotiate terms that protect the business while enabling growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across functional areas.
• Monitor legal risks, escalate issues, and propose mitigation plans.
• Conduct legal risk assessments for bids, proposals, and business initiatives.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, SOPs, and recommend process improvements.
• Support contract management and supply‑chain teams to ensure proper flow‑down of terms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Provide advice on government contracting, procurement, construction, regulatory affairs, sales & marketing, and competition law.
• Respond to access‑to‑information requests and governmental filings.
• Deliver legal and compliance training to colleagues across departments.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).
• Minimum two years of experience practicing commercial law in a law firm, government agency, or corporate environment.
• Member in good standing with a Canadian bar.
