Lead, Virtual Pharmacy

About the role

The Virtual Pharmacy Lead reports to the Director of Integrated Pharmacy Services and is responsible for providing leadership, operational oversight, and clinical support for Rexall’s Virtual Pharmacy program. This senior role manages a team of Virtual Care Pharmacists, drives the implementation of pharmacy‑led health programs, and ensures a seamless patient experience across virtual and in‑person services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Virtual Pharmacy Services, ensuring safe, evidence‑based care aligned with provincial regulations.
• Provide clinical guidance to Virtual Care Pharmacists and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge on immunizations, minor ailments, chronic disease management, travel health, and medication management.
• Design, implement, evaluate, and optimise pharmacy‑led clinical programs, developing workflows, clinical pathways, documentation standards and operational procedures.
• Support quality‑assurance activities, clinical audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Monitor service levels, patient experience metrics and quality indicators; conduct performance reviews, coaching and development planning.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, scheduling and workforce planning.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Pharmaceutical Partnerships, Marketing, Patient Contact Centre and store teams to create a seamless patient journey.
• Identify and implement workflow efficiencies through technology and process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in pharmacy or virtual care settings.
• Strong understanding of provincial pharmacy regulations and standards of practice.
• Ability to drive strategic initiatives, foster high‑performing team culture and promote continuous improvement.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Experience managing clinical programs and quality‑assurance processes.
