Labourer & Trades Helper – Temporary Help Services

About the role

The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking a full‑time Labourer and Trades Helper to support daily operations at its Saskatoon facility. This temporary help services position involves general maintenance, safety inspections, and minor repairs to keep the building running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lighting inspections, replace bulbs, and maintain inventory of electrical components such as ballasts.
• Carry out routine machinery checks, change HVAC filters, monitor gauges and record operational data.
• Execute minor plumbing repairs, adjust door hardware, replace ceiling tiles, and move/assemble furniture and office fixtures.
• Assist with contractor supervision, coordinate site logistics, and support preventative maintenance programs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid WHMIS certification and Government of Canada Reliability Clearance.
• Minimum two years of experience in general maintenance, facility operations, or related trades.
• Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lb, and follow safety procedures.
