Lab Helper B – Part‑time Laboratory Assistant

About the role

The Laboratory Helper B will support the research activities of Professor Adil Harroud’s lab at the Montreal Neurological Institute. This part‑time position (28 hours per week) involves routine laboratory administration and assistance with experiments, ensuring a well‑organized and safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in performing laboratory tests and experiments under established protocols.
• Catalog laboratory materials and equipment, maintaining accurate records.
• Collect and enter data into inventory databases; update manuals and datasheets as needed.
• Distribute, track, and log laboratory shipments and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly lab work area; open and secure the lab daily.
• Perform additional tasks typically assigned to Lab Helper level “A” when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience in a laboratory or similar setting.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• Proficiency in English at level 3 (out of 4) for verbal and written communication.
