Junior Design Engineer (UI/UX & Front‑end)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join Ashby’s growing Design Engineering team. In this hybrid design‑and‑code role you will shape both the visual experience and the underlying implementation of our recruiting platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product engineers and customers to redesign and improve key user flows.
• Create wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and turn them into production‑ready UI using our design system.
• Build and maintain flexible, composable components that enable consistent experiences across the product.
• Consult with product engineers on bespoke design challenges and improve information hierarchy for complex screens.

Required profile

• Passion for both visual design and front‑end development.
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and iterate based on user feedback.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving, user‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Experience with modern front‑end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Familiarity with component‑based design systems.
• Proficiency in wireframing and UI design tools.
