Junior Design Engineer

About the role

We are a bootstrapped, profitable SaaS toolkit for storytellers, worldbuilders, writers, and tabletop RPG creators. As a Junior Design Engineer you will shape the product from the ground up, owning features end‑to‑end and delivering value to a passionate creative community.

Key responsibilities

• Build features end‑to‑end with guidance from the founders, moving toward full autonomy within 6–12 months.
• Contribute to the front‑end experience, including layout, interaction, motion, and polish.
• Translate Figma designs into high‑quality, production‑ready React/TypeScript components.
• Work with SQL/PostgreSQL to implement data‑driven UI patterns.
• Use AI‑powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) daily to accelerate delivery.
• Iterate quickly alongside the founding team and learn at startup speed.

Required profile

• 0–3 years of professional front‑end development experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building features with Next.js in production applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating tasteful UI/UX design, motion/interaction, and shipped front‑end work.
• Proficiency with Figma for design‑to‑implementation handoff.
• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and data‑driven UI patterns.
• Willingness to adopt AI‑powered development tools.
• Based in Canada or Western Europe (Germany, UK, or France) and able to work fully remotely.
• Collaborative, fast learner who can work closely with a small founding team.

What we offer

• Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 USD annually.
