Jumbo Trainer – Mine Safety & Equipment Instructor

About the role

The Jumbo Trainer will join the Mine Department at Agnico Eagle’s Macassa Mine, reporting to the Mine Superintendent. This role delivers classroom and field‑based health, safety, and mobile equipment training, ensuring workers meet competency standards while upholding the company’s values and safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom and on‑site health, safety, and mobile equipment training according to approved training plans.
• Assess and evaluate worker competency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
• Mentor trainees to develop higher levels of competency and confidence.
• Identify and address health and safety issues using the Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
• Review and update training curricula regularly to reflect legislative changes and site safe work practices.
• Develop new training materials aligned with manufacturers’ specifications, operational procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain document control and ensure best practice adherence for all training documentation.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately 10 years of experience delivering health, safety, and equipment training in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, respect for Agnico Eagle’s values, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
