Industrial Rescue Technician

About the role

Tacten is seeking an Industrial Rescue Technician to provide standby rescue coverage and emergency response for projects across the Atlantic Region. The role involves working on industrial, construction, mining, hydroelectric, marine and oil & gas sites from July 2024 through October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Provide confined‑space and high‑angle rescue standby during work activities and execute emergency rescues involving work at height, fall‑arrest incidents, underground and hydroelectric facilities.
• Conduct rescue readiness assessments, equipment inspections, hazard evaluations and develop rescue plans, JHAs and safe work procedures.
• Inspect, maintain and document rescue equipment such as harnesses, lifelines, winches, SRLs, rope systems, breathing apparatus and medical gear.
• Deliver first‑aid and patient care within certification scope, coordinate with site emergency personnel and maintain medical supplies.
• Promote safety culture by participating in toolbox meetings, incident investigations and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations.

Required profile

• Certification in confined‑space and high‑angle rescue, and valid first‑aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to work day and night shifts, rotational schedules and overtime.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Atlantic Region and work on client sites.
