Ice Maintenance Person – Non‑Ticketed

About the role

Canlan Sports is seeking a proactive Ice Maintenance Person to keep its ice rinks in top condition. The role involves operating ice‑resurfacing equipment, performing routine facility upkeep, and ensuring a safe environment for patrons.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Ice Resurfacer and Edger, measure ice depth, and perform ice chopping/spudding.
• Level, paint, and maintain the ice surface, including dasher board and arena glass repairs.
• Refurbish hockey nets and conduct minor repairs on facility fixtures.
• Perform janitorial duties such as vacuuming, auto‑scrubbing, waxing, and floor buffing.
• Maintain entrances, grounds, and parking areas, including grass cutting, snow removal, and debris cleanup.
• Carry out routine safety checks, cleaning, waxing, blade changes, and greasing of ice‑maintenance equipment.
• Complete required checklists, records, and equipment sign‑out logs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence (preferred).
• Willingness to work flexible evenings and weekends.
• Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
• Organised, self‑motivated and proactive.
