HR Generalist

About the role

Canonical is seeking an HR Generalist to support its rapidly growing, globally distributed team. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, you will help shape a future‑focused HR function that operates across multiple continents and cultures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR guidance to team members and managers, setting high expectations for behaviour and performance.
• Partner with line managers on employee‑relations matters, applying global policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes, joiners, and leavers.
• Manage benefit programmes for either EMEA (UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain) or AMER (US, Canada, Brazil) regions.
• Liaise with finance on monthly payroll, projects, and enquiries.
• Support the full HR life‑cycle, including onboarding, benefit administration, and departures.
• Automate and reduce administrative tasks through critical thinking.
• Lead the management, development, and integration of the HR system, acting as a system expert.
• Produce data‑driven reports to inform HR initiatives.
• Lead and participate in projects that have measurable impact.
• Support internal resource groups, driving diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Create, update, and maintain corporate policies with a global lens and local application.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the organization.
