Hospitalist – Acute Inpatient Medicine

About the role

We are seeking a Hospitalist to join Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake. The position involves delivering acute inpatient medical care, acting as the most responsible physician for complex cases, co‑managing surgical patients and providing palliative care within a supportive, team‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical management for 12‑16 patients per 8‑hour shift.
• Serve as the most responsible physician for complex medical admissions.
• Co‑manage surgical patients and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Deliver palliative care services and support end‑of‑life decision making.
• Collaborate closely with specialists, family physicians and allied health staff.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and hospital leadership programs.

Required profile

• Medical degree and current licensure to practice in British Columbia.
• Passion for teamwork, quality improvement and community‑based care.
• Willingness to work full‑time, part‑time or locum as needed.
• Interest in professional development through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.

• Base salary of $336,168 CAD per year ($200.10 CAD/hour) with up to 40 % additional incentives.
