Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Full-time

About the role

Join AJ Truck Trailer & Auto Repairs as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, working in a dynamic workshop environment to keep heavy trucks and equipment running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to identify faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose issues using computerized testing equipment and determine required repairs.
• Order parts, maintain inventory, and manage stock levels.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective components, including welding where needed.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance meets manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.
• Repair and verify emission control systems on heavy trucks.
• Document work performed and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
• 1–2 years of experience in heavy‑truck or equipment maintenance.
• Physically capable of bending, crouching, kneeling and handling heavy loads.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work in dusty and noisy environments.
• Reliable, organized and a team‑player.
• Good oral communication and client‑focused attitude.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, on‑call shifts and overtime.
