Heavy Duty Mechanic – In‑Town Position

About the role

Join Geotech Drilling, a leading geotechnical drilling company in western Canada, as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. You will keep a fleet of over 70 drilling and support machines operating safely and efficiently in demanding field conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble engines, transmissions, cooling, fuel, exhaust, brakes, clutches, differentials, hydraulic, electrical and lubrication systems.
• Inspect and test drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment and high‑pressure water pumps to identify faults.
• Diagnose malfunctions using computerized testing equipment and determine required repairs.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance as well as major breakdown repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with the maintenance team to meet service targets.
• Service attachments, tools and verify/repair emission control systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience with industrial heavy equipment, including hydraulic gear, diesel engines, compressors and high‑pressure pumps.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic licence required.
• Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics preferred.
• Strong organizational and decision‑making abilities.
