Health Information Management Supervisor

About the role

The Health Information Management Supervisor leads a team responsible for organizing, coding, and maintaining patient health records within a fast‑paced healthcare environment. This position ensures accurate data collection, compliance with classification standards, and timely retrieval of information for clinical and administrative use.

Key responsibilities

• Assign classification and metadata codes to health records and develop document inventories.
• Collect, code, cross‑reference, and store clinical and demographic data according to established policies.
• Operate information systems to maintain indexes, manage retrieval, and generate medical, social, and administrative statistics.
• Prepare reports on records‑management activities and implement classification, retention, and disposal schedules.
• Label, prepare, and transfer files following lifecycle procedures while maintaining access lists for secured records.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in health information or records management.
• Experience supervising 5‑10 staff members.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and excellent oral and written communication.
• Organized, judgment‑driven team player.

• Computer‑assisted records management system.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and Windows.
