Graduate Student Research Assistant (Project Coordinator)

About the role

The School of Social Work at McGill University is seeking a Graduate Student Research Assistant to serve as Project Coordinator for a SSHRC‑funded study on the hidden social, emotional, occupational and mental health impacts of resilience among immigrant workers in three Canadian provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall coordination and administration of the research project.
• Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Charles Gyan, and partner institutions.
• Assist with data collection, management, and analysis using qualitative, quantitative or mixed‑methods approaches.
• Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, and documentation for funding bodies.
• Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary and interprovincial partners.

Required profile

• Current graduate student at McGill University.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French proficiency is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment of 10–12 hours per week to the project.

Required skills

• Knowledge of qualitative, quantitative or mixed‑methods research techniques.
