Graduate Programs Coordinator – Research Programs

About the role

The Graduate Programs Coordinator provides proactive, independent coordination and support for all graduate degree programs within the School of Population and Public Health (SPPH) at UBC. The role focuses on course and exam scheduling, registration, curriculum management, and room booking, as well as admissions and student services for the MSc and PhD programs.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate course and exam schedules, registration processes, curriculum updates, and classroom allocations across SPPH graduate programs.
• Support admissions and student services activities for the Master of Science in Population and Public Health and the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health.
• Serve as a resource for faculty, working closely with the Senior Education Manager and Academic Programs Manager.
• Maintain extensive contact with prospective and current students, faculty, and staff from the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
• Resolve complex administrative problems and ensure a high‑quality customer experience for all program participants.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently in an academic environment.
• Experience coordinating graduate programs or similar educational initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of university administrative systems and processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to serve as a resource for faculty and staff.
