Global Transportation Manager

About the role

The Global Transportation Manager leads daily transportation operations for Global Cargo Connection Canada, ensuring compliance with regulations and driving performance across the department. This role plans, organizes and evaluates transportation activities while supervising a team of staff.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor daily operations and department performance.
• Plan, organize and adjust schedules, policies, and resources.
• Prepare reports for senior management and oversee budgeting.
• Recruit, train, supervise and develop a team of 5‑10 staff members.
• Ensure transport compliance with regulations and implement policies for storage and handling of goods.
• Negotiate service contracts and preferential rates.
• Oversee vehicle dispatching, service rate setting and revenue monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or freight forwarding.
• Proven ability to supervise 5‑10 employees and manage large caseloads.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
