General Manager – Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth while also building the parent company’s marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts.
• Lead sales and operations to ensure programmes, coaches, venues and service quality meet demand.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent marketing team, including specialists, contractors or agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit.
• Inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel problems and launch improvements while building a consistent execution team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands.
• Demonstrated results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Commercial responsibility beyond marketing budget, including pricing, margins, staffing and profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership.
