General Ledger Accountant

About the role

As a General Ledger Accountant at AnalytiChem Canada, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support reliable financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and contribute to the company’s overall financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Maintain, reconcile, and document general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and key expense accounts such as interest, insurance, and taxes.
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and assist with variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and provide information to Accounts Payable for supplier payments.
• Review AP/AR reconciliations and ensure accurate posting of payments.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support additional accounting‑related projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA candidacy considered an asset.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (ASPE and IFRS).
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and able to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
