Funding Support Intern – Winter 2027

About the role

The Residential Funding Support internship ensures the smooth completion of mortgage closings by supplying accurate data and documentation to the closing service provider. Working from January to April 2027, you will support solicitors, agents, and internal teams in both the instruction and post‑funding phases of property purchases and refinances.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with EQB’s closing service provider to deliver required data and documents for mortgage closings.
• Liaise with the Residential Credit Team to resolve inconsistent information and monitor task progress.
• Review and update borrower information, insurance documents, and loan details in internal portals.
• Monitor the closing service provider’s portal after funding to confirm disbursements and execute post‑funding actions such as setting up pre‑authorized payments, generating welcome letters, and updating risk ratings.
• Prepare final reports, follow up with solicitors, and draft formal demand letters when needed.
• Assist with mortgage amendment processes, including documentation preparation and coordination with legal representatives.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (Business, Communications, IT, Data Analytics or related).
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of mortgages and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent education.

Required skills
