Fullstack Web Developer

About the role

Google is seeking a Fullstack Web Developer to join the Chat Platform team. You will work across backend, web, and mobile technologies to deliver end‑to‑end features that power billions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server‑side components using Java and Kotlin.
• Implement client‑side functionality with TypeScript and Java.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, team leads, product owners, and UX designers to translate roadmap items into working features.
• Participate in project planning, clarify requirements, and ensure timely delivery.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Chat Platform, including mobile (iOS/Android) extensions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience, including full‑stack work.
• Experience with back‑end languages such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ and front‑end technologies like JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, strong data‑structures and algorithms knowledge, and experience building accessible technologies.
