Full-time Permanent Welder – Surrey, BC

About the role

We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team at NMT Tire Port Kells Ltd. in Surrey, BC. The role involves operating various welding and metal‑working equipment to fabricate and repair components in a fast‑paced, commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret welding specifications, blueprints and drawings to determine appropriate processes.
• Operate manual, semi‑automatic and fully automated welding, flame‑cutting, and oxygen‑arc cutting equipment.
• Fit, braze, torch‑straighten and shape metal using brakes, shears and bending machines.
• Monitor and adjust robotic welding production lines, and perform minor repairs on equipment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1–2 years of welding experience with materials such as aluminum, copper alloys, steel and heavy metals.
• Ability to work in dusty, hot, noisy environments and handle loads up to 45 kg.
• Strong attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination and stamina for standing long periods.

Required skills

• Gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
• Plasma arc welding (PAW).
• ARC spot welding.
• Operation of robotic welding systems and metal‑shaping equipment.
