About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at Whistle Stop Pub in Courtenay. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key responsibilities
- Determine portion sizes and associated food costs.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, including options for customers with allergies or intolerances.
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen work areas and equipment regularly.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
