Front Desk Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Front Desk Supervisor to lead the reception team at a flagship hotel in downtown Montreal. Reporting to the Director of Reception, you will ensure smooth check‑in and check‑out operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences in a modern, high‑traffic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily reception activities, including guest arrivals, departures, special requests and reservations.
• Provide front‑line customer service, address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Train, coach and mentor reception staff to maintain service standards and hotel policies.
• Manage work schedules, leaves and staffing levels to guarantee adequate coverage.
• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate communication and efficient problem‑solving.
• Handle guest complaints proactively to ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality and check‑in/check‑out procedures.
• Perform administrative duties such as reporting, record‑keeping and billing.

Required profile

• College degree in hospitality or related field (asset).
• Minimum 3 years of reception experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage delicate situations.
• Strong leadership, organizational and attention‑to‑detail abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel management systems and standard computer tools.
