First Shift Cook

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated First Shift Cook to join our kitchen team at Delta Hotels Beausejour. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the service team during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters; pull and thaw frozen items safely.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish and maintain accurate food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to Food & Beverage staff.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report maintenance issues, accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect company assets.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lb for extended periods.
