Financial Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the accounting and finance function for a manufacturing company in Orillia, ON. This senior, hands‑on position will shape financial controls, drive process improvements, and partner with senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance team activities, including AP/AR, general ledger, billing, cost accounting, inventory, capital assets, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, board packages, and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial modeling, and cost‑benefit analyses.
• Own financial controls within the ERP system and train users.
• Manage grant accounting, credit and collections, and inventory accounting.
• Drive finance process automation and digital transformation.
• Lead external audit liaison and provide mentorship to the finance team.

Required profile

• CPA designation (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive finance experience with controller‑level leadership.
• Manufacturing or industrial background; job costing or cost accounting experience is a plus.
