Financial Controller – Hospitality

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site Controller position at Homewood Suites by Hilton Surrey will lead the hotel’s financial management. The role includes preparing and analysing financial statements, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, handling payroll and providing financial insights to operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities.
• Prepare, analyse and present financial statements, reports and budgets to support decision‑making.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, bank reconciliations and balance‑sheet reviews to identify discrepancies.
• Develop, monitor and adjust budgets, forecasts and financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, coordinate audits and ensure proper documentation of all charges and credits.
• Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and other platforms to maintain accurate records.
• Apply the Hilton standard chart of accounts correctly across all transactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably within hospitality or a similar industry.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of statutory accounting requirements and audit processes.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with leadership and operational teams.
