Financial Analyst Intern – Fall 2026

About the role

Join EQ Bank’s challenger team as a Financial Analyst Intern starting Fall 2026. You’ll support accounting processes for PC Bank and PC Insurance, handling payroll, expense reporting, intercompany transactions and month‑end activities. The role offers exposure to finance, treasury and payroll functions within a fast‑growing Canadian bank.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bi‑weekly payroll journal entries for PC Insurance and PC Bank, ensuring correct GL mapping.
• Prepare bi‑weekly expense reporting journal entries for both entities.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, analyse monthly payroll costs and flag issues to the Director.
• Process payroll vendor payments in coordination with payroll, finance and treasury teams.
• Support month‑end close for PC Insurance, including journal entry booking and variance analysis.
• Book and reconcile intercompany entries between PC Bank and PC Insurance.
• Assist accounting automation initiatives and drive process efficiencies.
• Handle ad‑hoc reporting requests as needed.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• Working towards or holding a CPA designation (or equivalent international designation).
• 1–2 years of related accounting/finance experience, preferably in payroll accounting and month‑end processing.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Effective communication and relationship‑management skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP (preferred).
