Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will support the Senior Accountant and Controller in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting for multiple entities within a private family office. This position handles day‑to‑day accounting activities, month‑end and year‑end close, and provides guidance to junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements across several entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain supporting working papers.
• Own day‑to‑day accounting tasks and contribute to month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Maintain accounting records and data integrity in Sage 300 and other systems.
• Serve as a backup for the accounts payable function.
• Assist with budgeting, net‑worth updates, and ensure consistency of reporting deliverables.
• Reconcile investment statements to the general ledger and prepare related journal entries.
• Support special projects, process improvements, system initiatives, and audit/tax documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting.
• Working towards or recently obtained an accounting designation.
• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
