Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant joins the Branch Administrative team, reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager. This full‑time, permanent position supports day‑to‑day financial operations for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kenora.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, maintain receivable/payable sub‑ledgers, and reconcile bank and credit‑card statements.
• Process bi‑weekly payroll, prepare CRA remittances, and handle HOOPP enrolments and reconciliations.
• Track expenses, prepare reports, and assist with rent transactions and general ledger duties.
• Provide general administrative support, attend team meetings, and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• Accounting certificate or diploma with at least 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in accounts payable and payroll processing for small‑to‑mid‑size organisations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and professional communication.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Sage 50 accounting software
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
