Family Physician – Primary Care Provider

About the role

The Family Physician will provide comprehensive primary care to patients in a private practice setting. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and advising patients on a wide range of health issues while collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The physician will also contribute to health promotion and disease prevention initiatives within the community.

Key responsibilities

• Collect medical information from patients, families, and other professionals.
• Examine patients to identify diseases and injuries.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, X‑rays, and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications, administer treatments, and provide vaccinations.
• Provide acute, emergency, and chronic care management.
• Offer counseling and support on health and lifestyle matters.
• Coordinate patient care and refer to specialists when needed.
• Report births, deaths, and communicable diseases to authorities.

Required profile

• Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry.
• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
• College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP).
• Experience in primary care is an asset.
• Willingness to work evenings, days, and weekends.
